We're thrilled to share that we're now in the final stages of concluding missives and are about to sign a long-term lease that will place the management and operation of our Village Hall firmly back in community hands.
From 3 August 2026, the people of Dunning will take responsibility for every aspect of the hall: from bookings and cleaning to maintenance, improvements and planning for the future.
This is a landmark moment for our village and a fantastic opportunity to create a hall that truly reflects the needs and ambitions of our community. Whether it's bringing people together for social events, supporting local groups and activities, celebrating special occasions, or simply providing a welcoming place to meet, the future of the hall is now in our hands.
This milestone marks the culmination of three years of hard work, dedication and perseverance by a dedicated team of local volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to make community ownership of the hall a reality. Their commitment has brought us to this exciting moment, and we owe them a huge vote of thanks.
Dunning has always been known for its strong community spirit, and we're confident that, together, we can make the Village Hall an even more vibrant and valued part of village life. There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved, share ideas, lend a hand, or simply enjoy all that the hall has to offer.
We hope you'll join us on this exciting journey. With your support, enthusiasm and community spirit, we can build something truly special for Dunning—creating a thriving hub at the heart of the village for years to come.
Let's make it happen together!
"The hall belongs to all of us now—let's make it something we're proud to pass on to future generations."
Revised Arrangements
Please return any keys previously issued by Live Active, to their office before 3 August. Access to the hall will be changing to a unique PIN code for each booking linked to our online system: the old keybox code and lock will be changed. We will also hold a meeting for regular hall users in August to explain changes to use and booking of the hall.
